Our Mission

Most homeowners don't know how to evaluate their roof until something goes wrong. By then, they're often facing a denied insurance claim, a missed coverage window, or a costly repair that should have been an insurance-funded replacement.

We built the Roof Score to change that. In about two minutes, any homeowner can get an instant screening assessment of their roof — flagging condition concerns, likely inspection priority, and a rough remaining-lifespan estimate based on age and material. Completely free, with no obligation. The score is a starting point for deciding whether a professional inspection is worth scheduling — not a substitute for one.

How It Works

Free Roof Score is a self-reported screening tool. Answer a few questions about your roof and we'll flag whether a professional inspection makes sense — based on the following inputs.

Roof Age

The year your roof was installed, mapped against the expected lifespan of your material.

Material

What your roof is made of — 3-tab shingles, architectural shingles, metal, tile, or flat/TPO — each has a different failure profile.

Visible Condition

Five self-reported condition indicators including granule loss, staining, prior inspections, prior claims, and recent wind or hail events.

Building Profile

Story count and home value band, used to contextualize inspection difficulty and give you a replacement cost range.

Screening, Not Diagnosis

The Roof Score is a screening tool. It flags roofs likely to benefit from professional inspection — it does not replace one.

What the Roof Score doesn't do

So the tool's limits are clear:

The score does not pull NOAA storm history or address-specific weather data. It uses only what you tell us in the questionnaire.
It does not account for installation quality, ventilation, decking condition, or any factor requiring a physical inspection.
It does not produce a confidence rating or predict specific insurance claim outcomes.
The replacement cost range is based on home value band only — a rough order-of-magnitude estimate, not a bid or contractor quote.
The remaining-lifespan estimate is nominal material lifespan minus roof age. Real remaining life depends on inspection findings we can't see from a questionnaire.

For any of the above, a free in-person assessment gives you the real answer. That's when we get on the roof.
